Charmed
This is the THIRD year of Femme Locale Western Mass and we are thinking “The third time’s a charm!”
Bringing up themes of controlling our world or achieving things as if by magic, we are keenly aware of how as women we need to walk a line and use our charms in the world that is designed for and by men.
Submission Criteria:
Artwork by trans women, cis women, intersex, genderqueer, genderfluid, and non-binary people in Western MA (within 39 miles of Amherst)
Up to 3 submissions of 2D work with the longest side no larger than 36 inches including frame. Larger submissions are less likely to be placed. If a work is sold and delivered, you will be able to replace with a similar sized piece - plan your submissions accordingly.

About The Mill District General Store & Local Art Gallery:
The Mill District Local Art Gallery features Massachusetts artists from within an hour drive of the gallery. We accept all forms of artwork, including, but not limited to painting, drawing, ceramics & pottery, fiber arts, photography, wood & metal work, digital work, jewelry, printmaking, and sculpture. The Local Art Gallery is a living, breathing space full of unique, vibrant artwork that also hosts pop-ups, classes, events, and conversations led by the artists themselves.
About 50 Arrow Gallery:
50 Arrow Gallery is a 2,000-square-foot curated gallery space in Easthampton dedicated to social equity, inclusion, and creative opportunity. This BIPOC-focused gallery provides a platform for historically marginalised communities and artists to share their work, ideas, and stories.
Alongside curated exhibitions, the gallery hosts community events, workshops, and collaborations that centre connection and accessibility. We maintain a “meet people where they are” philosophy, creating space for dialogue, visibility, and growth.
The Founder’s Exhibition Prizes are made with the generous support of 50 Arrow Gallery and the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts. Femme Locale and the Curators Award is made with the generous support of the Mill District Local Art Gallery and General Store.
